Welcome to Colorado Live Steamers!

The Colorado Live Steamers is a non-profit organization of people interested in building and operating large scale model railroad equipment. We are located on approximately 120 acres in Byers, CO, about 40 miles east of Denver.

Steaming on the Johnson BridgeThe first 7 ½" gauge loop was completed in June of 1998. To date we have laid  approximately 3,200 feet of track and have built the 102 ft wooden bridge which completes the first loop called the Johnson Loop. The organization's overall goal is a 2.5 mile, 7 ½" gauge point-to-point mainline railroad. We have begun our northwest expansion through 2 tunnels and over the steel truss bridge.

Steaming on the plainsThe railroad will be radio dispatched with ample steaming bays & unloading facilities to accommodate a regional or national meet when completed. Camping facilities will be constructed with limited hookups. Our regular run days are the 3rd Saturday of the month. Our Annual Open House is the 3rd Saturday of September. See "Contact Us" on this webpage for details, all railroad fans are invited.
