Notes From the Track Superintendent

The “stringer beams” have now been placed on the bents connecting the steel center span to both East and West ends of the bridge. Ties are also being cut and will be placed next.  After a great deal of ground inspection, it has been decided to scrap the idea of building a “wye” and return to the original track plan of using a loop at “end of track”.  By not having to “cut” through a large amount of earth, this will allow us to become operational at a sooner date.  This is a huge project and continues to be our number one priority.
